What happens if I want to amend my policy’s start date?

If you would like to defer the start date on your policy, you will need to make sure that your policy has not gone over the 14 day cooling off period or past your start date. You can email us detailing your customer reference number and the date you want it changed to and our friendly customer service team will be happy to assist you.

What happens if I need to cancel my policy?

You have a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel your policy providing your policy has not commenced. You can email us and our friendly customer service team will be happy to assist you.

If you cancel outside of the cooling-off period, you will receive a pro rata refund of any premium minus the customer service charge, providing you have not made a claim or intend to make a claim.

If you have purchased this policy through a broker, you can also cancel the policy by contacting your broker.

Can policies still be purchased during the pandemic?

Yes, policies can be purchased as normal. Our annual policies can be purchased up to 364 days in advance; this also applies to renewals.

If your renewal is due during the pandemic, you can renew your policy online and select your new start date.

What happens during my holiday, if my rental period exceeds the 60 continuous day limit whilst I have to isolate?

If you have an annual policy, you will need to provide us with written proof that the car rental firm have confirmed an extension of the original rental agreement and we will treat the period, in excess of 60 days, as if it was a separate rental.

If you have a daily policy, you will need to buy another daily policy to cover the extra period and we will waive the exclusion for already having a rental agreement in place, prior to the policy starting.

What happens if my rental period exceeds beyond my renewal date on my annual policy, during my holiday whilst isolating?

If a rental period extends beyond the renewal date of an annual policy, you will need to renew your policy online and add the correct dates to ensure the policies are continuous. You can renew online from the link in your renewal email that is sent from sales@insurance4carhire.com.

  • Avoiding travel between our UK office network and attendance at large events where possible

  • A vigilant approach to personal hygiene and cleaning of our facilities; and
  • Following the advice and guidance of Public Health England where suspected cases arise within our employee population, clients or other stakeholders.

Senior management-led working groups and local leadership teams are working collaboratively to ensure operational resiliency and the provision of business-critical services, with preparations in progress to enact additional measures as the situation evolves.
