European car hire excess insurance cover

  • Annual, multi-trip car hire excess insurance - ideal for those travelling regularly within Europe.
  • If someone close to you will be travelling separately at another point in the year, you don't need to purchase an additional policy.
  • Select our family and partners policy to enable another driver to have their excess covered even if they hold a rental agreement separate from your own.

Insurance4carhire’s European cover allows you the confidence to get out and explore all the continent has to offer. Our policies will reimburse you for excess payments in the event of an accident or theft of your hire car.

Choose our family and partners policy to allow another person close to you to rent a car as the lead name on the rental agreement.  This policy is ideal if you and a loved one know that you may not be travelling together on all of your trips throughout the year. This is also useful should you need to rent two cars at the same time.

Plus, benefit from great cover such as misfueling, bumps and scrapes however minor and multi-lingual international emergency assistance. We'll cover you for damage to the undercarriage, wheels, tyres, windows and roof where car hire companies don't.

What's covered? (Features and benefits)

  • Excess on damage and theft up to £6,500 per year
  • Covers damage to the windows, undercarriage, roof, tyres and headlights not otherwise covered by damage waivers from car hire companies

Europe 60

--

Obtaining the car insurance was very easy. However, when I showed it as evidence of Insurance coverage to decline the CDW at Europacar at LHR Airport I was informed that they would not accept that coverage. Further, since I already had additional CDW coverage, by virtue of pre-paying for the cost of the car rental with my VISA card I pointed out to the Europcar representative at LHR that I was double covered regarding auto insurance for the time of the rental.

Alas, all of this was to no avail. Europcar would only allow me to rent if I accepted their CDW and additional fees. The cost for doing that was an additional 1200 pounds to the amount I had already paid to rent the car. I told Europcar their terms were unacceptable and I would contact their corporate offices regarding the entire issue. Subsequently, I took the National Bus to Wales since Europcar would not provide me with a car with the insurance coverage, one of which is what I purchased from your organization, Insurance4carhire.com

In the following 2 days I resolved the issue with the corporate offices of Europcar and was directed to pick up a car at the Europcar rental facility in Newport, Wales.
I did this and the insurance they were willing to accept was based on using my VISA to pay for the entire car rental. This office also indicated they did not accept the coverage provided by your company "Insurance4carhire.com".

I will appreciate your comments and advice regarding the frustrating experience I had.

Sincerely,
Tony Evans

We purchased the Europe 60 - our second year - although we have been hiring cars abroad for 15 plus years. On our last trip at Xmas we had a need to claim through our policy. Easy to do and was repaid the money in a couple of weeks. Excellent result, as until you have to make a claim you never know! Definitely will be recommending this.
