European car hire excess insurance cover

  • Annual, multi-trip car hire excess insurance - ideal for those travelling regularly within Europe.
  • If someone close to you will be travelling separately at another point in the year, you don't need to purchase an additional policy.
  • Select our family and partners policy to enable another driver to have their excess covered even if they hold a rental agreement separate from your own.

Insurance4carhire’s European cover allows you the confidence to get out and explore all the continent has to offer. Our policies will reimburse you for excess payments in the event of an accident or theft of your hire car.

Choose our family and partners policy to allow another person close to you to rent a car as the lead name on the rental agreement.  This policy is ideal if you and a loved one know that you may not be travelling together on all of your trips throughout the year. This is also useful should you need to rent two cars at the same time.

Plus, benefit from great cover such as misfueling, bumps and scrapes however minor and multi-lingual international emergency assistance. We'll cover you for damage to the undercarriage, wheels, tyres, windows and roof where car hire companies don't.

What's covered? (Features and benefits)

  • Excess on damage and theft: up to £4,000 per claim or £5,000 per year

I called to renew a landlord insurance, not having made a claim the year before. The operator gave me a competitive quote (slightly higher than the year before) and I accepted.
Everything was sorted within 10 minutes. The efficiency and smooth processing was much appreciated!

Best regards,
Rita

We used your insurance when we recently travelled to Spain and hired a car when we got there. We found it completely satisfactory, and luckily had no cause to make any claim. Thank you.

Nobody contacted me when last year's cover expired despite me prompting.

When I actually went back onto your site, the new policy was delivered promptly and from the correct date, so great.

Despite having the insurance, one car hire company still tried to surcharge me long after the car had been returned - but I guess you can't do anything about that!

Europe 60

covers much more than car hire version

CDW/SLI Worldwide 60 Day

Upgrading from previous policy took two minutes on the phone - haven't needed it, but rental firms were happy (ish) to see it.

Massive saving as Hertz wanted a daily charge of 11 euros. More than paid for itself after 5 days.

I was told by Europcar that your insurance did not cover anything and I was pressurised in to taking a highly expensive insurance with them. I find the whole business extremely annoying and will think twice about hiring cars in Portugal again.

On 27-Oct-2014 the supplier responded:
I would like to assure you that your insurance4carhire policy is valid across all car rental companies, as we are insuring you for the amount you are liable for in the event of damage/loss to the vehicle, and not the vehicle itself. All excess waiver policies, whether sold by insurance4carhire.com or by the rental company, are optional therefore it is the customer’s choice whether to purchase or decline the insurance. I’d also like to advise that there is no legal obligation for you to purchase any excess insurance, whether that be with the rental company or not.

Please take a look at the following link which outlines another of our customers’ stories, which is similar to yours. http://www.insurance4carhire.com/guides/insurance/insurance4carhire-case-study-gareth-joyner
There is also a link to an article which was published by the Daily Mirror which highlights some sales tactics, I hope this article will help you in preventing this issue from arising again in the future.

Should you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact us on 0844 892 1770
